The Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN), in partnership with UNICEF, is currently recruiting qualified professionals for the position of State Consultant under the Zero-Dose Immunization Transformation (IT) Project. Locations and Duration

The State Consultant role is available across several states in Nigeria, including:

- Adamawa

- Bauchi

- Bayelsa

- Federal Capital Territory (Abuja)

- Kebbi

- Lagos

- Niger

- Ogun

- Ondo


The consultancy duration varies depending on the state:

- 8 months (April – December 2026): Adamawa, Bauchi, FCT, Lagos, Niger, Ogun

- 6 months (April – October 2026): Bayelsa, Kebbi, Ondo

This structure allows flexibility while ensuring targeted implementation in priority areas.


About the Role

The State Consultant will lead the implementation of project activities at the state level. This includes planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of immunization interventions.

The role is highly strategic and requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, health workers, and community organizations.


Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

- Leading field implementation of project activities in assigned states

- Developing and executing detailed work plans

- Coordinating with government agencies such as SPHCDA and State Ministries of Health

- Supporting training and capacity-building for healthcare workers

- Supervising data collection and ensuring accurate reporting

- Strengthening monitoring and evaluation systems

- Engaging communities to improve vaccine acceptance

- Representing CHAN in technical meetings and stakeholder engagements

- Supporting malaria vaccine rollout in priority states

The consultant will also contribute to improving performance indicators such as immunization coverage, defaulter tracking, and community demand for vaccines.



Required Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, applicants must possess:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or Social Sciences

- A Master’s degree in Public Health or related field (added advantage)

- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in public health programs

- Experience in immunization, child health, or community health programming

- Strong understanding of NGO or development sector operations

Candidates with experience working in fragile or conflict-affected areas will have an added advantage.
