Lead Engineer – Tokenization at Gyld Finance
Gyld Finance is hiring a Lead Engineer – Tokenization to take significant hands-on ownership of its financial infrastructure as the company moves toward production. The opportunity is designed for an experienced backend or systems engineer with a strong background in trading, order management, execution systems, settlement and financial infrastructure.
The role is listed as London / Remote and is available on a full-time or contract basis. Gyld Finance is offering compensation of $125,000–$200,000, alongside 0%–2% equity and an option to receive payment in digital currency.
About Gyld Finance
Gyld Finance is building infrastructure designed to bring fixed-income products on-chain. The company is starting with individual USD corporate bonds, with each token backed 1:1 by the underlying security held with regulated custodians and brokers.
Unlike a typical greenfield engineering position, much of Gyld's core platform has already been built. The platform includes broker and custody integrations, order execution, settlement, reconciliation and on-chain compliance. The successful candidate will therefore join a small team working toward launching and operating an already-developed financial system rather than starting a platform from scratch.
Gyld Finance is backed by investors including Lightshift, GSR and Anchorage Digital. The company was founded by Ruchir Gupta, formerly Head of Treasury & Options at GSR, and Abbas Ali, previously associated with J.P. Morgan Kinexys.
About the Role
The Lead Engineer – Tokenization will take substantial technical ownership of the platform as it enters production.
This is primarily a senior individual-contributor position rather than a traditional engineering management job. Gyld is looking for someone who can make sound technical decisions independently, work with considerable autonomy and remain deeply involved in the code.

The most important qualification is experience building trading, order-management or execution systems. Candidates should understand the complexities involved when orders are submitted to brokers, fills are processed, trades are settled and positions, cash and on-chain supply must remain accurately reconciled.
Key Responsibilities
Trading, Execution and Settlement
The successful candidate will own and improve systems responsible for placing broker orders, processing fills, settling trades and reconciling positions and cash.
The role will involve designing systems capable of handling real-world financial-system failures, including partial fills, rejected orders, stale states, settlement breaks, retries and reconciliation mismatches.
You will also work across broker, custodian, banking and crypto infrastructure where these systems intersect with trading and settlement.
Maintaining consistency between the company's internal ledger, custodian positions and on-chain supply will be an important part of the role.
Production Engineering
The engineer will own production services within Gyld's Rust-based architecture.
Responsibilities include improving reliability, observability, monitoring and alerting as the platform moves into live trading. You will also help strengthen CI/CD, deployment safety, testing and database migration practices.
Because the platform will handle live financial activity, the role also involves diagnosing and resolving production incidents, including issues affecting live orders and settlement.
Tokenization and On-Chain Settlement
The successful candidate will work with Gyld's existing wallet, tokenization and on-chain settlement infrastructure.
You will help maintain the systems connecting off-chain securities and cash movements with on-chain issuance and redemption. The role also involves working with compliance screening and transfer controls incorporated into the token lifecycle.
As Gyld expands to additional assets, brokers, custodians and blockchain networks, you will contribute to the technical architecture required to support that growth.
Architecture and Engineering Standards
Because Gyld operates with a small engineering team, the Lead Engineer will be expected to make pragmatic architectural decisions without introducing unnecessary processes.
The position also involves documenting critical architecture, operational procedures and system behaviour while helping raise the overall engineering standard.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Strong hands-on experience building trading, order-management or execution systems.
- Experience owning production systems where correctness and reliability are critical.
- Strong backend and systems-engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with databases, distributed systems, APIs and asynchronous or event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Rust is preferred.
- Strong experience with another systems programming language may also be considered if the candidate can quickly transition to Rust.
- Working knowledge of blockchain architecture and on-chain settlement.
- An understanding of AI coding agents and willingness to use them as part of everyday engineering work.
- The ability to work independently in a small, highly technical team.
- Availability to join in the near term.

Deep Solidity or smart-contract expertise is not required, making the opportunity particularly relevant to experienced financial-systems engineers who have blockchain knowledge but are not specialized Solidity developers.
Candidates Who Will Stand Out
Gyld Finance will particularly value candidates who have built execution or post-trade infrastructure at a broker, exchange, trading firm or fintech.
Experience operating systems that move significant amounts of money, working directly with broker/custodian/exchange APIs, handling complex settlement and reconciliation scenarios, or connecting traditional financial infrastructure with blockchain systems will be highly valuable.
Compensation and Benefits
The advertised compensation is $125,000–$200,000, with 0%–2% equity. The position also offers the option of being paid in digital currency.
Other attractions include substantial ownership of a financial platform approaching launch, significant technical autonomy, minimal management overhead, and the opportunity to work across trading infrastructure, real-world assets, tokenization and on-chain settlement.
Engineers joining Gyld will also have the opportunity to work in a small team where technical decisions can have a direct impact on the product and production infrastructure.
Who Should Apply?
This position is best suited to senior engineers with a proven background in financial technology, trading systems, order execution, settlement or backend infrastructure.
It could be particularly attractive to engineers coming from exchanges, brokers, fintech companies or trading firms who want to move deeper into blockchain and real-world asset tokenization.
Candidates who have strong systems-engineering experience but limited blockchain exposure may still be suitable if they understand the fundamentals of on-chain settlement and can quickly learn the remaining technology.
