/>About the Senior IAM Engineer Role
The Senior IAM Engineer will serve as the primary technical expert responsible for managing and enhancing IonQ's Identity and Access Management environment. The position focuses heavily on Okta administration, identity governance, access lifecycle management, and multi-factor authentication solutions.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining the company's security posture while ensuring employees can securely access the tools and systems they need to perform their work.
The successful candidate will own and manage IonQ's Okta for Government High (FedRAMP High) tenant, which serves as the enterprise identity provider and governance platform for a large user base.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior IAM Engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of security and identity management functions, including:
1. Identity Governance and Administration
You will oversee identity governance processes, including entitlement management, access certifications, separation-of-duty policies, and access request workflows. These functions help ensure that employees receive appropriate levels of access while reducing security risks.
2. Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration
The role involves building and maintaining application integrations using industry-standard protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and SCIM. These integrations improve user experience while strengthening organizational security.
3. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
